Two Fun Weekends in a Row (Minus Caleb)

March is winding down and we haven’t seen much of Caleb lately. This has been a crazy busy month for him. The rest of us have felt a little left behind, so we’ve made our own fun.

Last weekend we made a quick (really quick) trip to St. George to see my family, enjoy the  warm temperatures, and go to the air show. We enjoyed two of the three. The weather didn’t cooperate. Rude. The air show was amazing and we were happy to see my family (at least most of them).

This weekend we braved the crowds and went to Hunger Games, best disturbing movie I’ve ever seen. We had seats next to a group of older women and I was pretty amused by their loud comments throughout the whole movie. If one of them missed something, the rest of the group caught them up. It was mostly funny.

Saturday we surprised Caitlin with tickets to Beauty and the Beast. I mentioned to a friend at work that I wanted to go and she said decided she would find us some tickets. Within five minutes, she had found three newly listed tickets on KSL for $55 each, dead center in the orchestra section. When I called the seller of the tickets, he said “I hope you have a daughter to take.” Oh, not only do I have a daughter, I have one who lives for theater. When we got to the play on Saturday afternoon, there were red roses on each of our seats. It was lovely. We had a great time and I’m so happy we decided to go.

Caitlin and I finished the day with the young women from our ward for the Young Women Broadcast. Wonderful messages and it makes me happy to be in the stage of life to have a daughter in this program. I hope she will always strive to make good choices and live up to her potential.

We’ve missed Caleb, however sometimes it’s nice to have time alone with one child. We worked to make the most our time with Caitlin these last two weeks and it’s been great.

hunger games must have brought out the noisy people. i sat next to a young man who didn't realize he wasn't sitting in the comfort of his own home and talked (not whispered) through the whole movie, in-between wrestling a paper bag with pop corn. it was great! nice week for you. i wish i had family that far and that close to drop in and see...
