Our little friend Emily is dying. After almost 15 years of fighting cancer, her disease is progressing and all options for treatment have been exhausted. Tonight I visited her family with my friends, Shari and Lynette. We were on a mission to deliver beautiful blankets to each of their children from our cancer mom group and to hug them in person. I don’t think I will ever forget the tangible peace and sweetness that we experienced in their home.
Emily and her parents have touched my life. I am so grateful for their wonderful examples of unconditional love, sacrifice, service, and love. It is a blessing for us that our paths crossed on this cancer journey. I know Emily will soon be out of pain and I pray for continued comfort and peace for her family.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. As the Pollyanna I am, I can help be grateful that she gets to return to her loving Father in Heaven and have the wonderful joy that will bring.
Good for you ladies! I really didn't know Emily, but I know Laurie and think she is wonderful.
I can't even begin to put into words our experience last night, but it had a huge impact on me. Thanks for inviting me. We were in the presence of a very precious daughter of God.
